Based on load capacity requirements, slewing bearings for offshore platform cranes typically use four-point contact ball slewing bearings and three-row roller internal gear slewing bearings. The slewing bearings used in offshore platform cranes have special material requirements. The mechanical properties of the material must guarantee a safety factor under extreme loads. Forged samples can achieve an average impact test value of 42 J at -20℃ or 27 J at -40℃. The finished bearings must be certified by a classification society.


Crane slewing bearing structure is divided into two parts: the top structure and the bottom structure. The top structure is connected to the upper mast, and the bottom structure is connected to the lower turntable. The mast and the turntable are connected together by pins. The driving device of the slewing structure is located at the bottom and mainly consists of three parts: a slewing motor, a slewing brake, and a slewing reducer, all of which are fixed on the lower turntable. The rotary motor is connected to the rotary brake through splines, and the rotary brake transmits power to the rotary reducer through the splines. The rotary reducer completes the rotary motion through the cooperation of the small gear and the large gear fixed on the intermediate base column.
